Why do you teach?
I love sharing my experience and expertise. Everyday I get to share what I know with students. It is always exciting when that "lightbulb" goes off and students understand!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in teaching the reality. Students can learn the theory in their textbooks but in class we talk about how things work.

What is the most rewarding part of teaching?
For me, it's when I have students who are not really sure what they want to do. I really want to help students find their niche. Perhaps a student wants to be a pastry chef but find that 4:00a.m. isn't the best time for them to go to work... everyone can find somewhere they belong.

Tell us about some of the projects you've worked on here at Mercer.
Every Fall we produce a television program called "Dish It Out" and have a great time. It airs on MCTV which is channel 26 on cable.
